Private dining at Mharsanta and sustainability and provenance commitments

Situated in the heart of Merchant City, Mharsanta brings a taste of Scotland to you. Mharsanta has a passion for using seasonal, local produce from Scotland in a sustainable manner and are here to ensure guests have the very best experience from the moment you walk through the door.

We serve a variety of Scottish food from mussels and scallops to home cooked favourites including mince and tatties and steak and sausage pie. Our resident chef Dom and his team serve an array of culinary delights to suit every taste. We also have a partnership with Chivas and can offer a Whisky Blend Masterclass, a chance to blend your own whisky with Chivas – and then take your creation home with you. Chivas’s ‘Art of Blending’ masterclasses will verse you on the history, heritage and origins of whiskies, and you’ll get to try a few single malt and grain varieties along the way.

We have a number of covid measures in place to keep your guests and our stay safe in the main restaurant with a capaicty of 80, and a further 40 seated in our private dining room and 36 on our outdoor terrace.

SUSTAINABILITY

As a small organisation, we are very aware of sustainability and the impact our business will have on future generations. With Scotland considered to be one of the world leaders and Glasgow’s sustainable tourism plan, it feels the right time to be actively looking at our own sustainability policies fuelling our
ambitions to become more sustainable by taking steps to reduce our own carbon footprint, in line with Scottish Government’s targets to become net-zero by 2045, and the national tourism strategy, Scotland Outlook 2030, ambition for responsible growth.

PROVENANCE

At Mharsanta we are committed to using locally sourced fresh produce from Scotland. We strive to deliver excellent hospitality offering home-cooked cuisine. We have a purchasing policy in place to work with local suppliers where possible to obtain the freshest, best quality food and drink in a sustainable manner. We care passionately about the environment and have taken the ‘Tourism Declares Pledge.’ Using produce from local suppliers cuts down on both travel miles and packaging.
